About

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, often referred to as the Vincentians, is an international voluntary organization dedicated to tackling poverty and providing assistance to those in need. It was founded in 1833 by a group of French students led by Frederic Ozanam and named after Saint Vincent de Paul, a 17th-century priest known for his compassion and charitable works.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul operates in over 150 countries and has a long history of serving the most vulnerable members of society through various programs such as food assistance, housing support, healthcare services, and education initiatives. The organization is based on the principles of solidarity, respect for human dignity, and a commitment to social justice.

The members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, known as Vincentians, volunteer their time and resources to help those in need, following the example set by their founder, Saint Vincent de Paul. The organization continues to make a significant impact on communities around the world through its charitable activities and commitment to serving the poor and marginalized.

MEET THE OTHER MEMBERS!

Today, we gather to honor and recognize the visionary individuals whose dedication and efforts were instrumental in the reboot and revitalization of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul: George Prieto, Leslie Garcia, Tony Pino, Maria Blanco, Maria Valdes, Salvador Torres-Torres, Janet Rivera, and Juan Torres each played a pivotal role in shaping the renewed mission and impact of our society. Their commitment to service and compassion has not only revitalized our organization but has also deeply enriched the lives of those we serve. We express our heartfelt gratitude for their leadership, passion, and unwavering support, which continue to inspire us all to carry forward the mission of Saint Vincent de Paul with renewed vigor and purpose.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul received the blessing of Father Fernando Arejuela and permission to conduct its activities near the Church of Saint Boniface through a collaborative effort with church leadership. This partnership was forged with mutual respect for the society’s mission of charity and service to the community, aligning closely with the values and mission of Saint Boniface to support those in need. This support has been crucial in enabling the society to effectively carry out its humanitarian initiatives and uphold its commitment to helping those most vulnerable in our community. The Society started their services in October 2020.
